Focusing on Quality of Life
At Creative Dialogues, LLC our mission is to support Pennsylvanians with developmental disabilities to achieve greater independence and enhanced quality of life.
Positive Behavior Support (PBS)
PBS is a philosophy of service provision. The main ideas are (1) challenging behaviors are expressions of emotional needs, (2) by identifying those needs, we can teach skills to better meet those needs, and (3) teaching skills can be accomplished through careful planning and positive feedback.
Creative Dialogues makes a commitment to be the leading provider of training in Positive Behavior Support- to our staff, other professionals, and interested family members.
Creative Dialogues takes community integration seriously . We collaborate with participants and their families to write community integration plans. These plans focus staff support on getting participants to activities that give them a sense of belonging with others who share the same interest. We teach our participants skills that help them connect with others rather than simply attending activities.
Creative Arts Therapy
We use music, art, and movement to creatively engage our participants. For many of us, these kinds of activities are what make life worth living. Our program participants are no exception. We have a consulting Music Therapist and offer opportunities for participants to listen and play. These activities can be used to address challenging behaviors or simply to increase quality of life.
We believe that a constant positive dialogue with family members is essential for successful residential care. We meet regularly with family members to create plans and discuss progress. We encourage active involvement in all aspects of the programming. We will meet weekly with family members in situations where active problem solving is needed.
The vision of Creative Dialogues, LLC is to lead the community of service providers in the implementation of Positive Behavior Support as a way of increasing the joy, creativity, and aliveness of each participant.
